Central to area beaches, adjacent to Spring Lake's downtown and Social District, and a block from the bike path, this family friendly farmhouse has ample parking and beautiful newly remodeled outdoor gathering space with patio dining, fire table, grill and hot tub. This home is designed for rest and relaxation. Outfitted with classics, from the kitchen equipment to the games, puzzles, books and toys, your family will find plenty of restful and fun activities after your days spent exploring the best the lakeshore has to offer. For a good night's rest, enjoy quality linens and the comfort of Michigan-made Capital mattress in king, queen, twin x2 (the property also includes twin sized high quality sofa sleeper, port-a-cribs and bassinet).

The Village Farmhouse has plenty of onsite free parking, guests are encouraged to turn vehicles around in the back of the property before exiting the driveway. If traveling with a small boat, the driveway has space to park it, but it must be backed into the property as the turnaround space is limited.

The fully equipped kitchen is bright & inviting and stocked with basic staples. Guests are greeted with fresh flowers (summer & fall) and blueberry muffins, fresh Michigan fruit in season and fully stocked coffee/tea bar.

Relax on the reclining ottoman, comfy couch, sectional or love seat or rock a little one on the farmhouse rocker. Stream your favorite shows on the 55" Roku TV in the living area as well as smaller TVs in bedrooms. Enjoy puzzling or games at the large dining or coffee tables or lighted outside patio table. Our puzzle choice is White Mountain brand for their ease of completing in a short time and their nostalgic subjects. If you have to bring your work along, a beautiful Colorado live-edge desk and comfortable big/tall chair as well as WIFI is available. Also, challenge friends and family to a game of basketball, foosball, or over 60 classic 1980's games on our arcade cocktail table.

We are privately managed and will be available to assist with questions or concerns. Upon placing a booking inquiry, our guests will be asked to sign a hot tub, fire table waiver and general use of property waiver. If in agreement with the hot tub rules, keys to unlock the hot tub will be provided. Our general property rules are very typical: no smoking or vaping within the house, no pets, no parties, no loud noise or fireworks. Please respect the Spring Lake Village requirements of quiet hours from 11 pm - 7 am and allowed occupancy of 7 overnight guests. At check in, we will meet you at the property to briefly go over tips and use of the property so that you can fully enjoy your stay without difficulties and also answer any questions you might have. Guests are free to decline this quick visit if desired.

The home is protected by ADT security system with camera's facing each door approach and driveway only. The system includes carbon monoxide and smoke detection as well as additional antitheft detection.

Village Farmhouse is located on Savidge Drive, in the Village of Spring Lake which is a peninsula largely surrounded to the north by Spring Lake, to the south by the Grand River and the east by Loyd's Bayou.

Many annual events and festivals happen in and around downtown and at the beach including: May Kite Festival, June Art Festival and Car Show, Soccer-in-the Sand and Beach Volleyball Tournaments, July Triathlon, late July Coastguard Festival, and September Salmon Festival. A Farmers Market (Wednesday/Saturday), mini-golf and many charter fishing options can be found at Chinook Pier.

For those seeking beach or waterfront dining, Snug Harbor on the channel and Noto's, just south of Grand Haven State Park, are popular options. Right on the beach at Pere Marquette Park in Muskegon (12 miles north), The Deck is a popular afternoon or sunset restaurant and bar venue featuring live music.

The Village Farmhouse is centrally located along the entire West Michigan Lakeshore. Several beach towns are within an hour’s drive and include lovely downtown areas, lighthouses and restaurants.

*To the North guests can enjoy Whitehall, Silver Lake, Pentwater and Ludington.
*To the South guests will find Holland, Saugatuck/Douglas, and South Haven.
*To the east is the city of Grand Rapids featuring Meijer Gardens, John Ball Park Zoo, many breweries, Van
Andel Sports Arena & DeVos performing arts center. In the fall, Grand Rapids hosts the annual Art Prize.

If traveling with children, Village Farmhouse is also only 20 minutes from Michigan Adventures Water and Amusement Park. Mac-Wood's Dune Rides are offered in Silver Lake just an hour away. Several playgrounds are within blocks of the house and both Grand Haven and Spring Lake have splash pads. P.J. Hoffmaster State Park (10 miles north) includes wide open sand beaches for long walks, a nature center and dunes to climb. Additionally, those adventurous enough and have the necessary ORV permits can take their own off-road vehicle to Silver Lake Dunes for an exhilarating experience. Favorite Stay in the Grand Haven Area

We have stayed at this rental several times, and it is the best property we have found in the Grand Haven area. There are so many things that make this rental feel like your own home, from the decor to the amenities. The kitchen is well-stocked and you can cook as though you are at home. The host provides food for the first morning after you arrive (eggs, in-season fruit, milk, cereal, muffins), so that you don't have to rush to the store. The outdoor space is amazing with a hot tub and a space to sit in the shade and have a nice family meal. You can walk to a park in around 3 minutes and a small beach area in 10 (on a paved neighborhood path), there are local restaurants right down the street that you also can walk to. If you want to go to a larger beach, the city and state beaches in Grand Haven are a ten minute drive away and you'll pass downtown on the way with some great shops and food spots. (Beach toys, a cooler, beach seats and sand resistant towels - all provided!) If you have young kids, this is the place for you. Available are: a bassinet, a pack and play, fantastic toys with a kids "nook", a bath seat, a boppy pillow, a high chair, a stroller - seriously as you are packing, just reach out and the host is so happy to help and provide information about what is in the house. There is also a cabinet filled with board games and puzzles, a foosball table and a video game table for the older kids. There are TVs with Rokus for you to connect to your accounts in all of the bedrooms, a great desk/chair for working (I have worked here and been able to stay connected), and two of the best napping couches who claim a member of our party every trip with a sneaky nap. If you don't have kids, but are still reading, we'd stay here regardless of whether we had kids or not. We've never found a cleaner rental, with a host who pays attention to the details like this host does. You won't regret booking this space (we've stayed 4 times I think, with 2 more booked on the calendar already for this year).

About host

SB
Sherry Boeve

I'm Sherry, and I manage our two short-term rentals with my husband and son, with lots of help from good friends. Our first experience with vacation rentals was in London in 2008, and since then, we've loved using them for our travels. Our three daughters and their families live in Florida, Tennessee, and South Asia, which often requires us to gather together, often at vacation rentals. Our primary goal for The Village Farmhouse was to create a welcoming space for multigenerational families like ours, while at The Channel Side Getaway, we aim to offer a relaxing retreat for couples or families.

I enjoy hospitality and gardening, and these passions help to make our spaces feel welcoming and comfortable for our guests. My husband manages the exterior and hot tub maintenance and contributes to business management. Our son, enjoys building trades and property management, often helping us maintain and improve our rentals.

We enjoy creating welcoming spaces and believe that good hospitality and a cozy atmosphere make a stay special. We don’t just leave the bare minimum—our goal is to anticipate the needs of our guests and go a little above and beyond to make their stay comfortable and memorable.

We’ve chosen to add high-end amenities and well-stocked kitchens to ensure a comfortable stay, providing all the typical supplies needed for a home or condo vacation. For us, being hospitable is more important than saving a dollar, and we focus on creating welcoming, well-equipped spaces for our guests. I love hospitality and gardening, which helps me create inviting environments. My husband manages the exterior and hot tub maintenance and contributes to business management. Our son, Sam, enjoys building trades and property management, often helping us maintain and improve our rentals.
